I've been swamped lately so I hadn't had a chance to mention how impressed I am by the quality of the Bismarck/Tirpitz hull I bought from ModelShipsAhoy. It is a thing of beauty :) Cutting one up for battling may be sacrilege.

I may be wrong here but, I think the mold was, originally, made by Ralph Coles and that he most likely used the AOTS book? Bob Pottle could probably correct me. Bob?

This mold was built long ago. At the time we received it From Ralph, it had warped considerably. We put a lot of time into getting all the lines correct on this. See our post “Blueprinting the Bismarck”. This is a Modelshipsahoy Mold Set now. It’s spot on.

Those plans pictured are of Bismarck not Tirpitz . I have those plans as well as Tirpitz. The crane is on deck level but on Tirpitz it is on the upper platform where the catupult deck is .

@CURT, What plans do you recommend? I'm working on super structures for both.

There are many good plans for Bismarck out there online . Tirpitz is harder to get. I used plans from my Bismarck Class book and the Tamiya drawing upscaled to 1/144 . I am looking for another plan set so I can build my Tirpitz .If I can find a Stl file for a Tirpitz superstructure I can 3D print it with all the detailing .
