Has anyone ever used duct tape as a mold release? I hear that glass resin will not stick to it.
    Thanks,

While I haven't used duct tape for such an application related to model warships, I had once used it to make "emergency" repairs to a large model rocket avionics bay while in the desert using "splash"-based techniques. I used duct tape to cover the part being used as a mold as there wasn't sufficient time to look for an alternative. The results were somewhat mixed. The reinforcing fiber weave tends to show through and while the part generally came off without sticking to the duct tape, some of the tape delaminated, leaving small bits in the cured epoxy resin. IMHO, you'd be better off keeping with conventional materials such as wax as it would give you more consistent results.
