Turning motors covers more than just differential steering, for instance if i remember correctly active drag was banned under turning motors but isnt differential steering.

I'm late to the discussion, but I'm thinking a couple of cheap WalMart flip-phones :)

I like the idea of ditch drag devices from the perspective of making the hobby less intimidating initially for newcomers. I know my first fast gun event I was somewhat overwhelmed. I adapted quickly but the pace is frantic and punishes captain error harshly. I had the experience of battling Big Gun going in to it. Doing away with drag devices increases available reaction time to fix mistakes. It is also one less thing for a new guy to build and dial in.

Like Steve I enjoy the added performance. However, more ships are more fun. The more we are willing to find a balance in performance, the more people will come aboard. It is an easy modification for vets to implement. Most drag devices are only secured by a fastener.
