Mikey, the gun layout on Hood, Bismarck and PG were the same, its was only POW with 10-guns, two 4-gun turrets and one 2-gun turret!!! this is out of a book i have on this: Bismarck always Kept the Cruiser on her starboard side were the cruiser was Protected against enemy fire! but the downside to that is, any shells that missed bismarck, would have ended up hitting her! That was off the book called: the Bismarck Chase: new light on a famous Engagement by Robert J. Winklareth! So if any of you get a chance read it, or i'll bring it with me once!! Nikki
From left to right.. Prinz Eugen, Hood, Prince of Wales, and Bismarck. This is the one and only photo that I have of the Denmark Straits battle that we had at the conference. Just one sortie unfortunately. We will probably be trying to have the battle again at one of the fall battles. There seems to have been something wrong with our bloody ships last month. Bummer. Mikey
Hey Mikey, I know were only have the DS boats, but are we thing about maybe doing Bismarck's last fight??? POW, can stand in for her sister, and Ohio can stand in for Rondey! and If we had two smaller cruisers that can stand in for Norfolk and Dorsetshire ! what do you guys thing??? Nikki!
I could, at a pinch, see a Dunkerque, or a Jean Bart standing in for my beloved HMS Rodney, but not a yankee cruiser!
HMS Rodney's doing fine, she needs a new skin, but she's still watertight, armed and dangerous. One day (when I win the lottery) I'd like to bring her to the Exercise Rhine battle, and bag me another Bismarck. One day......
