Thanks Steve, I ordered them today and will get them tomorrow. Luckily I live less than 10 miles away from the distribution center.
I am close, so I get to will-call. Unfortunately I cannot look over the place, I have to order and then I can refuse if I don't want it.
Servo arm and linkage are in the boat. Going simple with this style, not much weight to the boat so this should work well.
You might have to adjust the angle on that pump outlet. It needs to be either horizontal or vertical +/-10° to be rules compliant. Hard to tell though from pics.
If these can come to fruition in the near future, my local Hobby shop is interested in stocking some of these, as well as i want to use as loaner too.. thank you guys for working hard to put this together. It holds great possibilities!!! Not to mention it makes for a Fantastic Build thread
That rule was made for 10'+ pump streams spraying people on shore. Hard to apply it to a stream that's only 4" tall. I liked the cooling down spray of the old style pump outlets.
I agree with Bob, the pump stream will be small on these boats as there is not a lot of internal space before she sinks. We brought this issue up before and it was tied to spraying people/transmitters on the shore. Not going to happen in this ship with a "glug glug" outlet. Will post a video of the sea trial when we do it.
These will be offered at an online store when ready, with links to all the parts from other vendors including a more comprehensive build once we get the first couple built.
Not by me, I am just a guinea pig. We want to wait until it is all worked out first, we want this to be a success ( I will let him announce when ready). Going to play around with gun location (bow, stern) and how it affects the internals. Still trying to decide on batteries, waiting until everything is in to see how much weight we have to play with on the build.
Other sources as well, depending on what you want to do. More when it becomes available. Posting the build as we go along so we can get help/advice, the spartan's were a great suggestion.
Really like the way this is being done, I just sold out of all of my ship stuff. But I'd be interested in a pair of these just to pull out when I have the time or nats comes back to NC. The hobby has been missing a kit like this throughout its whole existence to help less capable builders to get on the water. The vacuum formed hull with formed "cut out windows is brilliant. I'll be watching this thread for sure. Good work!
This will also be offered as a non-combat model, single screw coming out of the keel (one motor, less cost). You just don't cut out the hull and still sheet with balsa to make it smooth (or don't, ribs are not that prominent).
