The plugs are in the solenoid, now to find a placement for it in the hull. Regulator has a cross brace to hold it in place, not completely straight but close enough and this will do the job.
Gun is in the ship superstructure, in this shot you can see it from the underside of the superstructure. Still need to fabricate a gun mount.
To load the BB's, I cut the top deck and made it pivot on a screw (you can also see I missed the cap location - hole in front of the current cap). This is held in place with a servo horn. So to load BB's, move the servo horn, lift the superstructure by the aft funnel and pivot to the side.
Working on the pump in relation to the deck, I cut out a square and now back filling it. This will become a positive placement point to help align the deck.
The deck is held on with screws, about 3-4 turns with a common phillips head screw driver will do the trick. No special tools needed, just a few minuets to change the cartridge between sorties. In this shot you can see the stern screw installed. Each screw is put through a cross member of the subdeck, the rubber underneath the cross deck pieces help to waterproof the holes.
The top deck was made with an overhang, this can be used to help position the balsa and create a smooth hull.
We often tell rookies to use a stern gun to be able to get out of danger quickly. Most rookies want to drive their ship into the hull and snipe away. Well, lets give them what they want! Remember that we want them on the water and they can decide to change it up later if they want. In this setup, you come up to the hull of the battleship, and about 4-5 inches away from the side you start blasting! As the range is so small, we don't need a long barrel.
Yep, that is why this is taking some time. We are trying various sources for parts and using 2-3 boats to test it out.
personally I'd go spurt on the tail simulate guerilla hit and run torp runs. although if you caught a big boat busy you could cozy up and brawl . of-course if you can cozy up and get between his side guns you could do some damage either way I still want a few of em in total LOL
Maybe, but the captain will learn and build their next ship accordingly. At least they will be on the water getting hooked with the hobby.
Best part is you can order a new hull and change up the setup and swap internals. Until I get this boat on the water, I am not sure how I will be able to fit in a stern gun with most of the weight being near the stern.
My hope is others will experiment and post their results so a rookie could choose how to set it up. I also expect a few more campaign boats for the allied in the coming NATS. But the initial build and instructions will be for a bow mount.

It's not for sale yet, but in the very near future. There will be a website you can purchase from, and links to other sites for parts to complete the build for combat version.
