Considering the discussion on Fast Gun vs Big Gun a whle back, I just wanted everyone to know that Small/Fast Gun and Treaty are welcome at NABGO (it is an OPEN event). To actually participate in the main Big Gun battles, there are some accomodations to be made - fire rate is adjusted down, as are speeds to the regular Big Gun speed chart of 0.1 km/hr per knot. The fire rate adjustment is not as bad as you might think, by the way, as accomodations have been made to up it a bit from what you might think. We treat your guns as secondaries, so they get the 2 sec interval of a 3-6" gun. Also, if the barrel represents several other dummy barrels in the same turret (say a triple turret with one barrel armed), you get that number of rounds every 2 seconds. You may have to tweak down your guns a bit if they fail the penetration tests, but you will still be able to hole the thickest armor. And, since you will be on a team, you will have Big Gunners right there with you. Also, contrary to some beliefs, Big Gun pumping at NABGO is limited not by orifice, but by GPH. Which means probably a lot lower flow rate than many Small/Fast Gun pumps. If any come, and we find the accomodations particularly unfair for any format in actual practice, we will consider further adjustments. After all the whole point of NABGO is fun. Also, there is plenty of unscheduled time that could be used for straight on "off the books" Fast Gun or Treaty format battling. Dates are the week of July 1st, and information, schedules, sign up, etc. are on the nabgo.org site under event information. Cheers,
