So here she is our newest ship a French GLORIE. She’s got a bit of work before she’s ready. Going to be my daughter ship she’s 11 she enjoys battling her little brothers Duca. So pick up this GLORIE from beaver. To start off cutting the shafts out to get them toed in
While the French word Gloire does translate to Glory, the word is not spelled Glorie and is not pronounced Glorie. More like Glowah. Sorry, literally everyone says it wrong I know I'm fighting an uphill battle here. Good looking boat, very popular cruiser in the hobby the La Galissonnière class. Have fun with it
I've been learning French for a couple months now and as a lifelong english speaker..its maddening to pronounce some things correctly...But yes, the lorie is like a lwah? Ellwah? Something like that. French pronunciation for a lot of place has been, well, surprising lol
The biggest issue isn't even the pronunciation. For whatever reason whoever made our ship list anglicized the name. It's just not spelled the way everyone in the hobby spells it haha. It's like calling an Iowa an Iwoa. My first year of French in college my professor told me if you ever go to France don't use what you learn in this class to try to speak French just ask them to speak English they're better at that than you are at French.
Coming along. Motors are mounted bottle mounted. Using micro balloons to fill in exposed area around the new shafts. My first try with them see how it goes
