I have a GWS 12mm motor geared 6.2:1 running my Golo. I bolted 2 LPS gearboxes together so that I could drive both props with one motor. It draws 1.1 amps on a 2 cell LIFE battery, for a total of 7 watts and spins at 6800 RPM unloaded. This setup is easily capable of sub 30sec/100' speeds, so a lot of power is not needed in a ship this light.

I do have some kits available for $50 plus shipping. PM me if you are interested.

Mike had one of his kits framed up for display at IRCWCC Nats. That is one superbly engineered kit. Excellent first framed kit. I would think it would be good for a beginner looking for a first build, and the result is an attractive model.
I think I have to have one of those! I hope you continue to develop new kits for the hobby. And get good support from the group!

RE: French Target I have recently purchased one (received it last Wednesday) and it is basically complete. it is absolutely one of the most straight forward models I have ever built including legos haha. I would definitely say it is perfect for a first time builder like myself. I made a couple mistakes but nothing i could not fix. Mine isn't as pretty as Mark's but still pretty dang good. just waiting on running hardware to finish her up. Thanks again RCENGR for the amazing kit!!

Thanks for the kind words Tugboat. I really had fun designing this kit and tried out a lot of new things.
I attempted put a lot of detail in the kit so that it would have character but still not take a significant effort to put together. I also tried to include all the parts needed, so that the builder didn't need to make a a bunch of extra stuff, like the fill pieces and the superstructure.
I did just get another set of these kits in stock, so if anyone is interested send me a PM. They are $50 plus shipping, which is generally $10 east of the Mississippi and $15 west. I'll only charge one shipping charge for two kits, so get with a buddy and save some money.
Here are the instructions so you can see the parts and assembly sequence.
Post your pictures if you are building one of these.
