HA...HA... :) Well you see, these guns aren't for shooting at other ships, they're for keeping the crew in check. :)

Does anybody have a wiring diagram showing how to connect a micro-switch to a solenoid?

    Thanks,

    At it's most basic:
Positive of battery to one side of switch. Other side of switch to solenoid. Return from solenoid to negative of battery.
McSpuds has a more detailed drawing in his Mutsu build thread (1st page), including test fire switches.

And don't forget the diodes on the solenoids!! Even microswitches don't like kickback.

Thanks, Jeff and Tug. I called US Plastics yesterday and they said they could get me the solenoids, but there would be 2-3 weeks of lead time. That won't work since Nats is a little less that three weeks away. So I think I'm going to order two MAV-2 poppet valves and actuate them with a servo.
I thought of rigging it up like this. Will it work, or are there better ways?

Are you trying to do duals?

I don't believe they use two poppets like that. I can't remember exactly how, but I think it was one poppet that fired both (can't remember the special fittings used though). If you order the dual firing cannon setup from BC it will come with instructions iirc.

So the way you and Nick suggested is the best choice?

Its the only way I've seen it done (with a poppet). I would think it would be less prone to failure than the way you came up with. Trying to hit both poppets the same amount at the same time would probably be difficult.
