Slimmed down triple to 2.5" diameter barbette. Increased threads to 9/16" to accommodate the thicker barrel.
Just saw this and had some deja vu on the turrets, then realized that they look like they are modded from what I made a while back and uploaded here. They look sweeeeet, hope the tests work well with them! I know nothing about big gun, but I'm curious. What does a side profile slice through a gun look like on one of these? Since there's three top threaded ports, are the bbs individually compartmentalized? And the bottom holes I'm guessing are CO2 intake?
I'd be happy to share! These Big Gun cannons are a lot different than what's been used in the past. In a lot of ways, they are a hybrid big gun / fast gun cannon. They have interruptors, magnets, and O-Ring breeches just like what you see in Fast Guns. However, there are differences; for example they must rotate 270deg. They are still prototypes, but the design has gone through a battle. They were rock solid for more than 3 hours and cycled around 400+ rounds. Throughout the R&D process; I've sent more than a thousand rounds through these. For impact power Big Gun uses 2" of construction foam to measure impact. These have been having no trouble tearing through. Rate of fire is closer to Fast Gun than Big Gun; they deliver around 3-4 rounds per second, but I haven't scientifically measured that. The goal behind these design is to make Big Gun accessible to new captains once again. As you probably know the Arizona and Indiana cannons are very hard to come by these days, and very difficult to manufacture. I'd really like to make reliable and readily available Big Gun cannon options again.
