The more I think about it the more I am leaning towards something new and leaving the old behind with the bad memories.
Well OK but as this is the last year for it we have to firgure a new annual championship starting for next year.
I have to get a forum to fill out a vacation request. Once I get it approved then it's on to book flight. So far it's expensive. This is going to cost me so I hope there are going to be some ships ready to battle. I hope to have either Bismarck or Yamato down there. Certainlty not both lol. Way too much. I am lookiing at spending most of the vacation time down there.
I just realized I have Chemo that month too. No date yet so that's going ot hold me up. Geez this is going to be difficult. Hope it's befoe the weekend of the 12th.
Well I hope you can get over Curt, we will be happy to see you. On another note the Canats trophy is here but it is bad shape, I think after this year the trophy should be retired and whatever club is around next year should finance a new one for the championship. Craig said the most feared axis was shattered in the move up here. Maybe it is time for new trophies all around as the old ones all seem to be in bad shape.
Cool Paul, there are a few places up here I will get quotes from too. On another note Paul do you think your wife could talk to someone about a event in Halifax to be held on Natal day next year as Halifax is a naval city and maybe we might get some support from the city council. I have two family freinds who are on the concil and another relative who is a MLA maybe between the two of us we might get a city sponsered event. That would be good exposure and maybe some free advertising.
Keep that idea in mind Chuck, depending on the prices for new trophies we may need to look at that route. In other news the new pool pump is working great and the pool should be open by Monday at the latest. I am going to disscuss a tank for us guys in NB with Chris O. over the weekend, this would not be a club tank but would be owned by either Craig or myself but I would not be against using the tank for club events if the club would fill the tank after, I think that this is a fair exchange. After talking to a few of Chris O's friends that are in a gas powered boat club, there is definitely some intrest in combat models. This maybe a good way to recruit new members up here and in NS. As we are all aware with the split in NABS, the amount of people is about half of what it was a year ago by my count we have 13 people who have working boats or new to the hobby with boats under construction. While that is not a bad number I would like to see that number grow here in NB and in NS. If we could get 10 members in each that would be a great start. I will talk to Chris O. about us putting on a demo before CANATS so some of his friends in the boat club could get behind the controls of a ship and even take a few shots at another boat.
Retire the trophy after this event. If I am able to make it I can take it back with me and fix it up. I hope to get 10 days for NB. Chemo date, flight and shipping costs are going to be the main stumbler here. Mostly the flight costs and the flight times. Shipping both ways would be about 300.00 Flight about 700.00 that's 1000 dollars right there. Not including food/ transportation ect.
I have seen some really nice metal minis that would look much better and are really cheap, they also could bronzed to give a trophy a more finished look.
No word I have not talked to Chris O yet but we did talk to Curt yesterday and he does not know if he will be able to attend due to other engagements. I am trying to get this done but life is intervening Paul.
Everything is on hold right now as there are 3 hospital appointments that may interefere with the trip. Once I get that info hopefully it is before 8th of Sept. If not that will conflict with my plans. I got to back Monday to get a lump looked at in my chest.
