16 pounds is about right for a PE.

I doubt many people have had much reason to hold their bottle over their head...so my guess is no.

Probably a rare occurance. Most of the time if a bottle isn't in teh ship ready to go, it's in the cooler chilling with the ice.

If you pick the Des Moines , I have a lot of pictures of the Salem(sister ship). My kids did a cub scout/ sleep over on the Salem a couple of weeks ago and took tons of pictures of turrets, decks & superstructures.

That's the reason I named my Des Moines class ship the Salem. I've been to visit her, so that was pretty cool.

    Mike,
Ya, but Daisy Mae and her two sisters were commissioned to later to see action in WW 2. Were as PG Was total Active, even if she didn't have the fuel.. she still all the line of a powerful cruiser! and one the one bigg bad ass ship in Germany..

My advice: Build the larger ship first.
You really like the Prinz Eugen, so build it for your second ship.
The experience you gain in your first build will mean you should get a better result for your Eugen build.
Then sell your first ship to a buddy and use the Eugen to sink him.

At 57.4 inches, a PE will fit but it's tight. Des Moines will not fit. I'd still go with a Brooklyn-class ship or a Cleveland class ship.
