    Look in the Warship Builds section of this forum. You'll find everything you need to know there.

    By the way, I feel that I should add this site:

    http://www.rccommand.com/Prinz%20Eugen.php

    She is not for battling, but she does look very nice on the water.

    Hi Nikki;

    The main question is: What rule set will the PE sail under?

    If you are going with IRCWCC rules, contact the IRCWCC folks in your area.

    As for me, I am also a newbie at ship building. All of my experience is in aviation. Building static, flying model airplanes and working on full sized aircraft. (Hence the photo that you see to the left that I use for my icon. Yes, that aircraft has my name on the side of it.) I am learning ship building skills right now. I have never built a ship from scratch! It is only recently that I have started on my first ship. (Tirpitz) Also, I am building Tirpitz using the BIG GUNS rules.

    Because Tirpitz and Bismarck use the same hull, I am making a mold for a fiber glass hull. I know several folks who want to build a Bismarck. So it will be worth it to make the mold.

    The one operational ship I have was given to me as a hull that needed a superstructure and to be skinned. So I am not sure how much help I could be.

    Check to see who is an experienced IRCWCC builder near you. (I just checked the map; I see that I am an hour's drive away from Burke.)

    Nikki;

    I did not say no. I am concerned as to how much real help I could be.

    PG is the correct abbreviation for Prinz Eugen, plus here is her call sign: Prinz Eugen PG "Paula Gustav"

    Don't worry much about the nickname. Nicknames for ships aren't something you can decide ahead of time, they usually are applied for random, unpredictable, amusing reasons that usually only make sense to the people involved. For example, my Viribus Unitis class battleship, the Prinz Eugen, is nicknamed the "Muffin Hunter" because of a close encounter with USS Massachusetts, the "Big Muffin". Other ships have earned names like "skateboard", "The Vulture", or "old faithful" (sank once per battle day for two years straight). Even stuff like "Tugboat", "Tank", and "French cheese-eating surrender monkey" have been used.

    That's a lot of commas for one sentence!
