OK, Now, with the pump, can you have it set so its alway on or is that a bad idea? what do you guys thing? Nikki
Some guys do it, others don't like it. There are pros and cons Pros: You can't forget to turn it on Cruisers can change batteries between sorties so power shouldn't be a problem Cons: Uses battery power even when not needed which makes you change batteries more often If you need to clear a vapor lock you can't cycle power to the pump you can forget to forget to turn the pump on (biggest ship killer I know) motor gets more wear because it's used more
I would say on/off or an automatic switch is better than always having it on because some times of pumps can burn/sieze up.
thanks Josh, I wasnt sure, if it was better to have it on all the time! The mistake at fall regionals when i went last year, i was was looking at the pump on one of my friend ships, and all most got a mouth full of water! Nikki
Honestly, what I would do is hook up an auto turn on switch so you can use a control to manually turn it on as well. That way if you forget to turn it on, it will come on automatically. If the auto-switch isnt working, you can always turn it on manually. It's a little more complicated, but the easiest way to make sure there isn't a failure.
crzyhawk The mistake at fall Regionals when i went last year! I was was looking at the pump on one of my friend ships, and all most got a mouth full of water! Nikki
Yeah I've had that happen too. Just saying that's something you could think about as well for setting your ship up. My very first sink was at 2004 IRCWCC NATS (in my first battle no less) because I forgot to turn the pump on while I was waiting for the second sortie to start!
Michael, That was funny! But anyway, I was thing about the gun set up more, why cant i up one forward and two back aft? Nikki
Mike, OK! i was only thing that, cause it would be easier for me! but anyway, what did you mean by This: I've had that happen too. Just saying that's something you could think about as well for setting your ship up. my idea, for the pump, is not going strait up, but going backwards, so it looks like she pealing! not the best way to say it! Nikki
Some guys like their pumps out the side or the back to enemies can't see how hard they are pumping. I prefer straight up so I always know exactly how hard I am pumping, and thus have a good idea as to how much damage I have. Besides, a ship pumping hard blowing a pump stream 20 feet in the air looks cool.
Mike! That was funny! Just don't stand over the boat, when She pumping, and you'll get a wet butt, doing it! Nikki
Could Nikki mount two 75 round guns in the stern and the pump facing stern in one of the turrets so the pump could be used as a weapon?
JKN, I don't know if you can pump as a weapon! But the BC gun kit! 3 Unit for Des Moines, Adm. Hipper Large Class 3.5 ships (3 mounted aft - Triple fire)! But i dont know if you can do the two 75 round guns in the stern! Nikki
Guys, I know, All ships shall have barrels installed in all main battery turrets. But with PG, i can only have three wroking guns, right? Nikki
Mike, What did you mean by this: it's illegal for her to split her units into 2 75 round guns. I don't understand! Nikki
