Cheaper... hmmm I don't know which are cheaper but is any selling big gun cannons yet? I know that you can get fast gun cannons premade. Rotates I would not recommend but this is a show boat so have at it. Whatever you do can also be changed for future battling should you choose to.
Thank you iceman, i know for a fact i will not be battling this ship as i am looking into the near future for my real battle ship. so are you suggesting fast gun, i found that Strike has big gun but im not sure on the price for the 2 barrel one because it looked like 190$ i piece unless that's for a set. im most likely putting an order in for these as soon as i get home from college so i need a little info on it before i start blowing money in the dark. i also sent strike an email asking them for a perfect set up as i have nothing right now.
Haha tell me why fast gun? or tell my why big gun? i need to know what would work better for a show ship that will have the turrets rotate. and is it possible to make fast gun turrets rotate?
Dave, All I can say is Fast gun is a little cheaper, I'm not sure how much but I know the Big gun cannons are a lot! Nikki
alright so i might go with fast gun, thank you Nikki, any other suggestions. im still waiting for a reply from Stephen to help me get all set up, im going to buy cannons probably this weekend if i know what to buy, and so i don't buy the wrong stuff
hey love lZ evol, How is Bismarck doing!!! have you made your mind up, are you going to battle? Nikki
ok well i purchased the whole cannon kit with regulator and a 9oz bottle from BC will be receiving it shortly and i cant wait to have her all armed most likely will be seeing a few problems on the way but i will manage its just how it is. oh and as for the Lutzlow i will not be getting her any time soon due to the fact i need to replace my truck transmission. keep posted as work on my cannon kit.
oh i was gonna arm her no matter what it was just a matter of when and when i have money, so anyway now saving for new trany then i slowly save for the lutzlow
All i can say is Have fun with Bismarck!! She's a great ship and one of my all time favorite ships! Nikki
ok i have the cannons but im having some second guesing how i have them set up. ive taken a few photos and i will be describing each one. first the white line is 1/16 inch tubing and black is 1/8 tubing. and BC said i really dont need a accumulator. and allso i didnt add the push buttons on yet so ill do that after i get my whole set up figured out. im going to blow up the picture a little bigger than i usually post so you can see the lines. here are the breif instructions i received and am going off that, and remember im trying to avoid buying an accumulator if it can work without one, and BC said i have everything i need to make these cannons function properly. hopfully you can see black and white lines well this is just an arangement i have set up. below is a mav3 hooked up to 1 x fitting and 1 t fitting ( i feel as though this is where i went wrong, not sure) Mav3 then goes to the stern most guns which are dual as you can see and they are 50rd straight and they mav2's have MPA-3's on them better look at the stern most guns at what i did. ok im confused on this one because if you refer to the first picture the 1/8 tubes come back here. and they have an accumulator but BC says everything is functional without one. better look at it, the stern most cannons now this is going to the 2 bow cannons the one closes to the superstructure is a 50rd coil cannon, it then branches off there and goes to the most bow cannoin and that is a 50rd straight cannon. and on the bottom of the picture is the mav3 better look at were the bow cannons lead so any help would be great and if im doin it right that would be also great, and also a little help on the most stern cannons would help to haha. thank you
Since you are not battling, you can get away without the accumulator. Here is another diagram to help. The singles look ok but the trips might need to be changed. Run one port from the bottle to the singles and the other to the triples or block the extra one off. Without the accumulator, the triples might not all fire at the same time but you can always add one in later as time and money occur. You will also lose rate of fire as it will take time for the system to charge back up. Make sure you mount the bottle in the boat so the top of the bottle is elevated up. This prevents liquid co2 from entering the tubing. With no accumulator, this will be a greater problem as there will be little space for the gasses to expand before the gun. Test and play with them. It's a good learning curve. Don't shoot your eye out!
Thank you Iceman and thats also why i got saftey goggles but befor i start cutting tubs and running my system i need to know if the cars are right and yea, well i made a minor adjustment. i removed the test port and put a 1/8inch barb in instread. do i need the test port? and i noticed on the test port there is a threaded hole; if i cant remove test port can i hook up the 1/8 inch barb there? u will see what i mean in the picture below and u will see the hole in the test port. the last pictures i posted the test port what on the top now i took it off and put the barb in place. This fixed my problem with the question mark in the pictures above as u can see the guns can now be completed, but will it work?
The test port is there to bleed off the air pressure before you take the bottle off the regulator. If you leave the system pressurized, it will pop and maybe ruin the seal. You can also bleed the system by shutting off the bottle and holding a gun poppet on. Empty gun hopefully. Test the system just like you have it now. leave the magazines empty and you will hear air rushing out the gun you are shooting if it works. You also can test it with compressed air if you don't have co2 available. It will still work, just not shoot as hard. Tinker with it a bit to figure it out. You'll get it.
ok im understanding it alot more, is there any thing else i can do kuz no i want the test valve on i feel as though im missing 1 t fitting
Leave the pressure valve attached as it is also used to test your air pressure. Other than that what Iceman has told you is correct.
ok i changed the set up a little bit, its now a little more simpler. Just about the same set up Iceman posted earlier.
If you take more pictures, I suggest turning your bedspread over or choosing something else with a plain background. The busy background makes it a little harder to see what's going on.
