Thank you all to be honest most this stuff i couldnt do with out all of your help, So thank you all for helping -Dave-
hey Dave, Are you going to be at IRC Spring Regionals. I'm hoping to be there for part of not all day Friday! My mom and I are going to Virginia!!! Nikki
Nikki, Not sure as again i need to get my transmission fixed and as everyone is aware i will not be battling the bismarck ever but will be buying a battler soon. -Dave-
Nice job, that ship came together fast and looks terrific. I'm sure when you build your first battler, it will be equally impressive. Another awesome Bis is born!
To be honest i am a model builder, but i had more fun building this and had more fun cursing it than a plastic model, were they have instructions this didnt and i had to use my own parts make stuff so i am really looking forward to my next project and to be honest i havent had this much fun with anything RC EVER! this hobby will continue to stay in my life.
Wait until you battle then, once you get over the fact that someone is shooting at your detailed work, it can be a lot of fun. Just build the battler a bit more durable and simplier. I like the challenge of seeing how good I can make a battled boat look. I also test materials to see what comes back in one piece.
haha i like that idea yea ill probably make my batteler detailed as well kuz i just like working on stuff so more stuff shot off the more to work on it.
That's how I kept mine looking good after battles. I didn't do everything just things like masts and some deck clutter. Missing rigging and boats. Stuff like that.
Had a little fun today with the bismarck, abot 2 weeks ago i constructed a 1:125 scale lindberg blue devil destroyer. I cut out ribs and sheeted it with aluminum can (just for fun for my target ship). i painted it and added trim then named it "Le Suffren" just for a joke. well i anchored it in the shallow straight were many of my bismarck pictures were taken and i had at the "Le Suffren" and it sunk quite nicely, only shot her from one side as my other side was just a little high but i had fun sinking it, here are some pictures. the picture below i was starting to patch holes befor i realized i needed pictures so i stopped. same thing started patching holes Dark haird beauty on the wall states"Patience is such a waste of time" in this hobby how true.
haha i was hoping someone would get a good laugh at that, it went down pretty cool, bow first i made sure i didnt make any wake to help the cause but it was fun now i just want it to move haha thats y i cant wait to get my real battler.
I should dig up some of my first targets and post them her for you to look at. Ship Targets that is. Before I had a ship it was either leaves, or duck feathers floating on the pond first before I had a model to shoot at. I used a scratch built retired RC ship HMCS Huron which I sank, and a 1/250 scale IJN Yamato , which was used many many times for target practice. Then it was on to moving targets such as my own RMN Vittorio Veneto and a 7ft model of the HMCS St.John's Canadian Patrol Frigate. That we had the Biscam mounted on the hull between the aft and forward Turrets and filmed and chased, and shot at the Frigate. Couldn't hurt it as it was solid fiberglass model. The first battle I had against a BB cannon armed ship was the HMS Invincible, sank it twice. This was in late November. Water is very cold at that time of year.
Haha yea thats sounds cool, yea i will be making another target ship but it will be rc so its more fun to chase down rather than a ship in port just sitting there
haha yes they are very happy about that, gota tweak just a little like maybe a couple 1/16 of a turn on my stern guns but over all they shoot nicely with just a few spurts so i need to tweak. now im shopping for my next build which i plan to purchase in the summer when the $ rolls in after work. Im waiting to see your progress on your ship still, looking forward to seeing your pictures.
