Dave if you ever decide to run your Bismarck in rough water you may want to check out the photos in the Axis in Rough Water! Bis can take it but make sure your pump is working very well and water channeling is very good .When Bis plunges water will go right over B turret so any open areas there will flood quickly. You don't want the bow to plow under. I sailed with Tirpitz in very rough water and Tirpitz's ballast was a little nose heavy, whcih unfortunaly caused it to plunge deeper and keep the water forward , end result Tirpitz went Titanic and wa veritcally then slipped quickly under. Wish I had a way to show you the video it is quite dramatic. The video is on a old vhs tape. The funny thing here is that the Lutzow was also with us and it porpoised quite nicely , again with the pump running all the time. The HMS Courageous ran quite well too but ti would rock voilently abreast of the swells. . We fought in this type of condition. Quite fun and scary at the same time.
Bismarck handled well in the condition and was quite stable side on to the waves. You really learn how your model handles rough water and strong wind.

Hey Curt i used pencil and a straight edge, lead pencil so i get a nice solid dark line then i painted the swastikas on then finally i coated the deck with spray polyurethane i coated it 4 times to make sure it had a good seal.

As for rough water your not kidding i took her out again yesterday and the wind was blowing real tough but the bismarck took it well and it was really cool watching it blast through the waves and the water pouring off of it, i will probably invest in a pump at some point because i was out there for about 2 1/2 hours and i had a good bit of water in the hull. not to bad then yea i will need to make a water channel as i haven't already.

Ok great thanks for the tip on the pencil lines. I used a sharpie marker fine point on mine. Yeah invest in a pump for your model even though it's a runner and probably better sealed than a regular combat model it's good to have one aboard just in case.
2.5 hrs is a good long run. Glad your enjoying it.

Haha yea oh yea Curt before you use the pencil make sure you hand doesn't run across the pencil markings because u will smear the lines and have to erase and do it over again so just heads up.

Dave refer to the A.R.C.C section under thread OB Bis Refit and refer to pages 13/16/17/18/22/and 35 to help you out also till I can get the exact measurements. I think the bottle is 3 in diameter, and a ft long I think.

Bad news for me and my bis, I cant afford a new 20oz Co2 cartridge as my BRAN NEW ENGINE that i just spent over $3700 on decided to blow a manifold gasket and a valve cover gasket making my timing off (very slightly) so there is my next project haha priorities first.

Dave, I'm guessing you are getting the bottle filled from someplace that does paintball fills? I would suggest obtaining a 20lb co2 tank and fill station to fill paintball tanks from it. They are horribly expensive new, but with some Craigslist hunting you can usually come up with one for under 100$. Condition doesn't matter too much since the first thing you'll do is take it to a welding supply place and swap it for a fresh full tank (for about 20-25$).. From your 20lb tank you can fill your 9oz bottle many times.
