That is awesome Dave. Great work!!. Salute! I see life presersevers, chicken wire. Rigging, ligting wire , search light, air horn above the bridge, deck details, piping along the outer walls, door hatches, life rafts, port holes, lots of new stuff. Looks great.

thank you all and Nikki, i don't think its LED so i might buy one due to the fact how poor the light is. im planning on doing more to it slowly finding little things but i cant wait to get my next ship.

Well for your first large RC ship build you did an outstanding job. Kudos to you and if this is what you can do on your first I can only imagine what future ship projects are going to look like. Your off to a great start.

to be honest i want this to be my beauty ship my next ones ill make amazingly but those will be for combat so u wont see no 1/16 inch birch plywood deck it will probably be basswood low grade since the fact it will be shot at.

I have a seperate set of Bismarck plans that I think you got your crane shapes from. The drawing on them shows the cranes with the arch at the top. The drawings I am using now the cranes are a lot thinner on the side and don't have the downward fang like curves at the top. However they both look good, but I will be making the crane rods thicker than the plans version I have.

Curt want me to be honest. it was about 730 am Saturday that i did those cranes and i started working on the ship about noon Friday and that was my last thing i did and i didnt have any more tubing so i said screw it and threw my own design together and cut a point on it to make it a little more sharper looking haha. Good fight sleep

Ahh yes I remember those days,... me , the dremel and lots of coffee, radiio and the midnight candle burning away the night. I carved original boats out of soft balsa blocks with just the exacto and dremel , soaked them in marine varnish or resin, sanded and painted. I still have them all except for one which was last seen floating around after one of the last battles of the week in Holmes NY. This was at the IRCWCC 2010 Nats. Other boats though imbedded with bbs and damaged are still intact.

you used a candle? that must of sucked how could you see... i used a lamp haha i know your kidding..or are you....? any way my hull side ribs? the things that balance the ship on the side you know well i used basswood or birch and i sanded it down but all i did was prime is and paint over it... you got me worried about waterproofing it. will it be fine as is or could i coat it with something without taking it off the side of the hull?

Brush expoxy marine resin or resin over the stabilizers.
