Curt: should i do that to the deck i already have top coated, but the peices the lay on the lip if the sub deck,as well because it soaks up some water.
also would : Midwest Aero Gloss (Gloss Clear) work as it is a type of dope which is available to me.
Nikki: i will when i get to it been pretty busy lately

Dave did you waterproof the deck before you painted it?

In future waterproof the subdeck . You can brush in a thin coat of resin but don't let it build up in the corners as it will then need to be filed down so that your deck hatches can sit flush again. Your fine for now just keep the model out of the rain and don't run it in rough water till you get it waterproofed. It is important to seal your wood from water damage as over time without it will weaken, and form cracks, and warp.

    +1 to what Curt says

You can also use Spar Varnish to seal the wood. It is slightly less prone to buildup in the corners than most resins and it will flex a little bit with the wood which helps keep cracks from forming in the sealant.

Thanks Nick, I forgot about that and Dave the Spar Varnish works very well too. I still have parts from Bis to this date that were spar varnished and it still holds up.

Spar Varnish. You can get Marine Spar Varnish or wood varnish at a hardware store.

yes i made that i coppied the picture on a peice of paper and i zoomed out on the internet so i could make it roughly scale. once i had my template i taped it on a peice of brass, then cut it out and put on all the details with a pen. But i knew pen would come off so i coated it with polyurithane.

if you mean on the deck i taped off a rectangular piece and painted it white, then i used a paint lid and sprayed red around the cap then finally i hand painted the swastika then i finally put 5 coats of spray Polly urethane on top deck.

I did it backwards. No wonder I had an issue. I remember now doing it the way you did it. I can't believe I screwed it up. Must be old age. I painted off the rectangular and painted it red first. That was a mistake. I have a stencil and spray adhesive to correct it now but I may just do what you did and go with it. For the Swastika I I used the same pin stripe we use for the waterline. No paint required and doesn't fade over time.
