I know, it is a lot of fun, but it can be painful if proper safeguards are not obtained. Loose pants are a must because they absorb much of the paintball's velocity.
I just shake my head when somebody comes dressed is shorts, and chuckle a little when I hear their screams across the field. :)

That's Joe. He probably wore shorts to his daughters wedding.

You are referring to battling Tanks, are you not? I would than say that peoples aim needs to be improved or maybe not:laugh::laugh::laugh:, if your opponent is on the ground howling in pain, I assume they are not shooting back.:woot::woot: Which is worth more points? The tank or the operator.....

Who is this? Was this at a warship combat battle? Looks like paintball damage to me.. those are large circles.

Yes paintballs. Tanks not toy boats.
The operators walk along with their tanks apparently.

Got some work done on the Barham.

I decided to use a high performance paintball regulator for the CO2 supply so I had to get a little creative with the distribution system. The reg has an ASA output (same as the co2 bottle) so I did some machining on an aluminum bottle cap and came up with this. I'm calling this my flux capacitor! ;)

I've incorporated some inline check valves that plug right into the 1/4" 90 degree push-to-connect fittings. Check valves on each cannon circuit keep pressure from back feeding to other cannons when they are being fired.

The long runs of 3/16" ID hose have as much capacity as the typical built-up pressure reservoir.

Taking a break from pneumatics and worked on the radio this morning.

The radio. The infamous VEX. I love this radio for R/C combat. Back in the day these could be picked up for $25 off the surplus market (I bought three). This ones been modded already. The right stick (channels one and two) have had a three position toggle switch and the two push buttons installed.

    upload_2017-1-18_7-36-15.png

The killer feature of this radio are the four on/off push buttons in the back.

    upload_2017-1-18_7-39-11.png

Three simple wires to each switch assembly. That CT8Z module on the right is one of those 2.4Ghz conversion kits. It didn't work worth a damn so this particular radio is now my parts radio.

Today's mod is to move the back buttons to a more ergonomic position on the right side and to upgrade the switches to the CK snap action push button units.

Here's an internal shot of the previous upgrade. The push buttons are for cannon firing and the three position on/on/on toggle I use for my three speed pump. I may upgrade the push buttons to the CK switches at some point.

    More to come...

Note to self: The next time I build an inset battery tray, make it long enough to move the pack back and forth for ballast adjustment. Modifying it after the fact is a PITA!

Finally finished up on the wiring. Everything is now spinning, clicking, pumping, and servo-ing. Working on the CO2 runs now.

    Fun with bullet connectors

    Getting crowded!

Once the CO2 is setup, that's it for the systems. Only the superstructure to build after that.

Since my 2D printed superstructure didn't pass muster last year, I'm biting the bullet and building something more multi-dimensional.

Finished up the gas plumbing. Went with something less radical than what I was initially planning.

This boat WILL be on the pond helping the Allied cause this year!

Looking good, Steve! You might want to put some armor on those copper mags. I don't think you'd want to have to get one out if it had a bb dent in it. ;)
    That's the spirit! :)

In the name of reliability I would put the armor on them. It's a simple task, but can sure save you a lot of headache at the lake. You know, there's always that lucky bullet, lucky bomb, lucky guy, sooner or later there will be a lucky BB. ;)

Ummm.... You can't put French Boats on a British Battleship. They'll either surrender or scuttle themselves! J/K

That said, rcengrs models are great and Caleb's prints came out nice : )

Not enough, wrap it with spiral wire wrap, stuff happens.
