Not a combat fail, but a boat fail none the less. Back in the day, I acquired through some trading a deep vee hull with hardware. Having no boating exp, I was looking to go fast, I installed a very hot for the time modified motor and speed control from my crashed race buggy. Nearest water for a test run was in the creek next to the house. It was fast, too fast. Hit a spot of churning water at the head of the patch of calm water I had intended to stay in before I could turn it. Well, it was cold and I had no time to waste as the creek was running at a good clip, so dove in fully clothed and just barely got to the thing as it was bumping along the bottom in about 5 feet of moving current. Lesson learned, lol.
