Fiberglass decks will be laid up for the HMS Furious over the next 2 weeks, complete with the usual Lexan hatches. The wooden turret master and mold should be done in 3-4 weeks. The 18" turret is much bigger than the 15" gun turrets on Courageous and Glorious. Canadian Tire has some ABS pipe suitable for the barbettes - only 1mm wider than scale.

After examining the 1/144 plans it's possible to build the model as a 2 turret BC and also convert it to the hybrid CV/BC by bolting the forward hangar and launch ramp over the bow turret and forecastle. The hangar will completely enclose the turret and a fixed 1.5 unit bow cannon will easily fit at the bow under the launch ramp.

The hybrid is such an interesting looking ship I've got to have the option of running it as BC or CV/BC.
