Couple things I noticed today 1 ship’s symbols l on the superstructure 2 what looks like Donald Duck and maybe a bomb with a face on it? 3 a symbol on one that looks like a plane or a cad maple leaf in a circle on the side? Time to get to decaling
Ahoy - I have a question....I'm pondering (now that you've got this model looking so good!) doing something similar... I realize that your base hull is laser cut wood...here's my basic thought. I'd like to take the 3D printed Liberty Ship model that is on Thingiverse ( Liberty Ship (RC) - Revision 5 by JohnButtery - Thingiverse ) and convert it into an escort carrier - either Nabob or Puncher. How close is the basic hull? Is this a workable idea? Do you know? I've done a bit of google-fu and turned up that the Puncher is based on the C3 hull design, and I think the Liberty Ship is the C2? How close are they...do you think it's a reasonable starting point? Also - plans - do you have plans for either Nabob or Puncher that you could point me to? My 'fleet' is mostly 1/96 scale at this point, but I'm leaning towards making this in 1/144, as at just over 3 feet, that's a really handy size.
I'm pillaging these for the external piping on the side - though I'm hesitant on the halifax picture as the list might lend itself to being nabob? Also...I just bought the nabob book by betty warrilow - lots of great detail photos to glean model type info off of.
I'll post a few more pics when I get home tonight. The CD was full of images, including scans of a couple of books the crew made up/had.
I bought the nabob book and found something back aft that wasn’t part of the blueprints…back to the board
Problem is they don’t look like aa guns so wth are they!?! The bogue has two seperate tubs, the nabob and puncher just one
