Nice work but next time, consider stripping it. You'll get fairer lines with less effort IMO.

As in what, taking lo g strips and running the the length of the ship? I could only get balsa in 18" squares...

Yep, long strips. You can get basswood strips or if you have a table saw, easy to cut your own out of pine, cedar, or other bendy wood. Here's an example but I wouldn't use the little nails. I'd T-Pin them in place until the glue sets then pull the pins. Also note the forward frames in the pic were sanded (faired) to match the contour of the hull in that area. Not sure you did that on yours or not.

Have you tried asking your local hobby store to order something different for you? I see there are several in the Ottawa area.

It's already built in that respect, so I haven't bothered. I'm moving on to the other stuff (fibreglass, etc).

I managed to pick up a 9x with receiver and an extra one for parts for $40, so that's pretty awesome.

Looking solid! A little elbow grease goes a long way toward making a wood hull look good:)

These ships wore a number of patterns. Several dazzle patterns were common as were patterns of shades of grey, all solid grey and even navy blue.
