Yeah, I have used them too. They seem to have some now with reverse that are already waterproofed although they are set up for water cooling, worth a shot for 12 bucks to see what burns out first

They look real nice for the price and the ability to go more cells. Different program card but only $6 not bad. I don't think you have to plumb it to the outside of the boat, just invert it in the water-channel,

I tried one of the AquaStar ones, but I could not find a way of removing the delay between forward & reverse.

I have tried the 30A and 50A Hobbyking and had problems with both.

what kind of problems? self cooking? thermal cutouts, failure to provide power levels as advertised? lack of actual waterproofness?

BEC fried, failed to arm, failed to enter into reverse, burnt up. All these on setups that drew less than 5 amps at full throttle. It seems to be mostly a software stability problem, they are just not as dependable as other ESCs. I'm thinking the problems may have to do with setting the ESC to do instant reverse.

The last of mine failed over a year ago, so if there have been recent updates you may not experience the same problems with newer models.

That is frustrating. Only the marine ones or the surface ESCs as well?

You can usually get more voltage through an ESC by removing the onboard BEC voltage regulator.

I've just had problems with the Hobbyking marine. No problems with the Trackstar car or the Hobbyking car 10A version. The marine ESCs also have very cheap FETs while the car ESCs I've tried have smaller, lower resistance FETs.

I use it to power the radio, and voltage isn't a problem.
