BigGunJeff submitted a new resource: How to work with downloaded ship models in Fusion 360 - Makes the foundation for a 3-D printed ship Read more about this resource...
I just wanted to add that there are other ways to do this if you are having trouble with this method. You can import meshes into fusion 360 and then convert them into surfaces via the Mesh to BRep function. From there you can use the surface workspace to clean up the model using lofts and the patch tool. Once the model is an actual solid object it should automatically convert itself to a solid body when you stitch all the faces together. If not you can use the boundary fill tool to create a solid out of it. Great instructable either way.
Take a look on the second page of this resource... there's a link. As Nibbles mentioned, that site will make all of the models available if you pitch them $5 or so. (At least they did for me)
Wow .I been looking for something like this . This will make it possible to improve my ships and help in zoeeding up the builds for my other ships.
It looks like it went through now. I have to go back and read the pdf on how to import it to a printing program. However when I tried to look at another ship it was asking me to log in which I did and it would not let me in. Weird.
