Nick, My apologies. for the lack of information as you see it.. But you asked for it. Lets start with the general quality of the hull. C- to a D as it stands today after a lot of work has been done. The 2 halves do not match up to make a flat or relative flat bottom. It rocks like a cradle. As received, The inside of the hull was very ruff, even after a thin coat of resin there were a large amount of fiberglass fibers sticking up. This required a large amount of sanding and a few coats of West Marine to make it smooth & safe for the fingers to work. Back to the outside of the hull bottom. Where the bottom haves came together we found a crack in the seam about 3/4" long almost went through to the inside. It has been repaired. Also the gel coat came off in a few spots leaving little voids. Again repaired. When looking down the hull from the bow you can see the the bow halves are not identical. The starboard side has more of a roll out than the port side. This I cannot repair. The bow is the as launched straight stem. The bow appeared to be very thick. I needed the refit Atlantic Bow. I had it recut and during the conversions, they found a number of big voids where the bow halves came together. Repaired during rework. At the top of the hull edge, the is a double bevel which is a challenge to fit a wood deck in place but I'm getting there. All the above have been repaired so I could proceed proceed with the build. Right after I got the hull, I did e-mail or called Tim and gave him a couple of obvious problems. On the good side, the hull sides are an 1/8" thick so it will withstand a lot of BB hits with out any damage.
Wow. When did you contact us with your problem? We don’t leave unhappy customers. We can’t fix what We don’t know is broken. We found your order..... You bought this in April when we were pulling our hair out over the kids all being forced to homeschool due to the Kung-Flu. We have searched our emails and found NOTHING beyond the tracking information and a thanks from you. This is really not a fair review of our customer service.
It should be mentioned that the bottom of the Graf Spee was ROUNDED. That makes our model accurate, not flawed.
Here’s a great shot of Graf Spee being launched... note the very low chocks that extended under the ship to the keel to hold her upright in dry dock. Rounded bottom.
