Heh. I knew it was coming :) But I also knew it was to be a surprise :)

Let me talk with Brian and Pete to see when is a good time for one. If you want to come over (and have someone to drive you) during next week, I'll be home during the day Monday thru Wednesday. We could probably get Brian to come over, too. Weekends are trickier due to my work schedule. But this may change.

I would think a VDT could run around on a 6V 12AH battery quite happily.

Ryan (MWC 2007 Rookie of the Year) got a 14amp hour 6 volt in his VDT. Not only did it give him 2 more amps but it is square, balanced and fits in the ship better then the 12. I think the brand was Werker. He was using popits not solenoids, so he had a little extra weight to play with.

I use 2 6v, 7 amp in my PE, about 1/2 a pound under weight, which is lighter than the VDT, so a 12 amp should work fine I would think.

For my dad it is being considered for the 6V 7 amp battery. I got 4 of the 6v 12 amp batteries that could allways be tested and checked for differences.

Zack congrats on the boat. Now for the real fun. the Build. Take your time ask questions and most of all since ya got a few locals get their help when ever you can.

Well I gotta get back to cutting on the Kron Prinz. I am about to temporarily retire Des Moines.

www.batterymart.com is where I get mine, there are others, too. If you can afford it, buy 2 of them so you'll have enough to battle with. If not, just buy one now, and buy one later when you're close to being done building it. They're like %16.95 each, not too bad.

$14.35 at Portable Power Systems. $13.85 if you buy 4.

Bobo, when I was asking the Biz captains for advice on such things (I was once on the Dark Side)... they said set it up as a really big cruiser. I think most were twin sterns (turret Dora), stern sidemount in turret Caesar, and a sidemount on the other side in turret Bruno. Not sure which gun got the extra half unit, but that was the layout.
