I am building an Big Gun I-400 that will be ready this spring for testing. It has four 1/4" single shot torpedo's and a ballast system that is for positive buoyancy so i can sit on the bottom and let them forget where I am. It will have two bottom access hatches and I will only need to open one to get to the battery's ( 6 screws). Now that you say it I'll make sure not too!

Build is looking great! How much do the vacuum formed parts weigh in comparison to traditional Balsa or 3D printing?

Off to a great start. I also like the idea of a static diver for Big Gun. Will you be using fillable tanks and gas pressure for diving, a pump-and-bladder system, or syringes and servos? I also wonder if those MJV valves will have enough airflow to push a pair of 1/4" ball bearings up to speed. They're great for a single barrel, but they've always struggled when it comes to twins of any size.

    Just a few things.
    1. Subs have bullets
    2. He has made a tiny U boat before, and that works fine.

Like the Japanese, Burn the plans after construction lol :whistling: I'm happy to see a design being built, let me know of any design changes I should make. The front bow dive fins show to be larger or that size it depends on the resource referenced. the Conn tower is spot on :).

Will all 4 barrels fire at at once, or one at a time? I was just wondering I don't quite know or get the rules on this subject.

All four will fire at once for greater affect. The plans worked great and I used 2" O.C. rib spacing and not sure about the dive plane sizes, they seemed large. I have the center part of the hull for the ballast and you can see the reserve air tanks in the stern to empty the water. With a single shot an MJV 2 will punch big holes in a boat that does not have 14 coats of house paint applied with a mop just fine.
    Fixed

I will post a picture with the two different sizes for the forward dive planes. Reason why i had so maney ribs is if some one wanted to build a plug from the plans they could have a farley acurate hull shape if desired, and im just OCD about things I do. I would like to buy a conn tower from you if that is possible it looks really great. I atempted to build a plug with poster board, the shape looked great till I added the expanding foam that bent the spine of the ship in a giant "u" shape lol i was going to have a go at it again some time later to build a fiberglass hull when im done with O'Brien.

Aren't you allowed to enlarge dive planes? I think I saw that in the rules.

May need to ask someone else... I have no idea, I was just letting you know what I knew that I had seen bigger ones. The ones in the magazine are easley double the size of the ones in the line drawing. /Shrug shoulders.
