Greetings and welcome aboard. What I would recommend is dropping a thread in the Introductions Forum. This is a great forum with a wealth of knowledge. There are Fast and Big Gun Captains from PA. There is a Fast Gun group in Maryland with members in PA, IRCWCC and their website is http://www.ircwcc.com/. Mid-Atlantic Battle Group is a Big Gun Group in Virginia, and our website is http://mabg.org/. I hope this helps.
I live up in NY but I know a few people in PA that are members of IRCWCC. You are in a good area of the country for fast gun. Visit IRCWCC.com to see meet others. Welcome aboard!
i was kind of interested in a fast gun but i dont like the depressed guns how likely am i to find a club that uses rotating guns in my area (sorry for the bad typeing im in a hurry)
You are sort of in the middle of everything. You have fastgun groups to your east and south. You have Treaty to your east and west. Treaty is fastgun (ish), but has less down-angle allowed, and allows more rotating cannons. We are building up the Battlestations 96th scale group as well to the west of you. Mikey
You're in a good area for many clubs. I recommend attending a meet or two before deciding which way to go ( If you are undecided) There are rotates allowed in fast gun but usually we don't have them because it is easier to move the ship than the gun. Think of it like this. Fast gun is like robot combat on the water, big gun is more like a game of battleship and Treaty is a mixture of both. If the look of the guns throws you, remember this is combat and they will look odd in all three rulesets. Real guns are different, we are not doing shots from 20+miles. The enjoyment of combat is moving the boat in and scoring shots. It is more about the combat techniques than the look, some boats are just plain ugly but deadly. Check all of us out, pick the group you like.
