I did this ignite talk a month ago: http://igniteshow.com/videos/a> It was an effort for me to get local interest in the hobby here in Utah. I am going to be in California for Makers Faire, and a friend noticed that Google is doing a big dev conference that week and they're doing another Ignite for it as well. I submitted my proposal on whim, and got accepted. So instead of being in front of 200+ people, I'll be up in front of 1000+ people, and I could really use some help. If you can watch the video, and give me any tips, comments or suggestions, even criticisms. I know I say 'um' way too much. Besides that, what can I do better? I really need to polish it up. I know I got some facts wrong, so feel free to correct me. Here are the slides: https://docs.google.com/...&hl=en If you have suggestions for better pictures, or layout improvements, I'd love to hear those too.
Hey James, do you need a ship to run at the Maker Faire? My brother is leaving on a training cruise in a week or two, so his battleship will be available.
I have the cleveland hull you sold me almost ready to go, I'm mounting up the gun this weekend (just a single barrel for now) and I need to paint it, but otherwise it's good, I've been on the pond nearly every Saturday. That said, I'm envious of your big ships with your many large guns, so I won't turn down the offer to run someone's battleship, expecially because I'm sure to sink the Cleveland, at least once.
