RE: IJN Mutsu Spuds I will post the rest in the NC build if you wish to view the tower and the remainder of the model. I don't want you to feel as if the thread is hijacked.

The Mutt is close to her sea trials.... all thats left is to get a warm day to lay in the concrete sealer for the water channel and a good ole skinning, plus I need to back that bow gun into the barbette a little bit... The blast shielding and hardware are modular and ready to be placed in the hull... I so wish I was in Florida right now...

For those who have caught it... thanks.. good catch by the way. But as you can see if you look closer at midships, you can see the new holes I predrilled in the hull for the new corners, thus making that area meet the rule changes... I just need to finish cutting out the windows.. I'm still a little "dremel Shy" after last year... I might have Jeff Lipp do it for me...:whistling:

Here's your chance to come up with a guard to keep the dremel away from soft tissue. I too am "shy" about machinery in general and have to slow down and remember that it is unforgiving, but I do have 8 fingers to work with and if I lose any I guess my significant other has 8 I can borrow.

If you're feeling dremel shy, pick up one the oscillating multitools. With the carbide or diamond blades they should chew right through your fiberglass problem.

Good idea. I need to pick up one myself.
McSpud's yeah I saw that when you posted it before. Not like you were trying to give yourself additional downtime. That blade looks like something I have seen in one of the movies. You get it on loan from Jason or Michael?

For the record, the saw blade in the picture is NOT the dremel bit you want to use on a fiberglass hull :)

At the time I was removing some wood for casements... the blade hit the fiberglass rib below it and jumped across the hull into my thumb... of course that rip blade chewed and clawed it's way into the flesh, ripping as it went.... it was not a "clean cut"...

Dam I need a drink now...

Concrete Sealer went in fine... Took a day longer to cure out though... but good now. Problem I have is when I painted the inside of the hull with a good white primer (Spray Can) the paint remains tacky on the sealer. It is dry, and does not come off when rubbed, but it is sorta "tacky" or "sticky" to the touch. Places where there are no sealer, the primer has dried nicely...
How can I cure out this primer? I was thinking about just covering it once more with a water based white paint.

Any thoughts? I hate the idea of having to peal this crap out! :crying:

    Major failure! !!!!!o_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_O

THis crap sucks! NEVER NEVER NEVER USE CEMENT SEALER IN YOUR BOAT:crying::crying::crying::crying:o_Oo_Oo_O

I am now headed to Home Depot to get my money back for this crap.. I can't belive it says "paintable" right on the dam tube in bold letters! The oils in the sealer prevent sprayable paints from drying completely.. not sure what the hell is in the rubber, but something is...
I have a piece of the dam crap with sticky paint on it for the store manager.... :whistling:

This crap will take me forever to get out... OMG.... somebody shoot me!o_O

How thick did you lay it and how long did you let it cure?
