I have the urge to build another boat. But I want to challenge myself and build it as cheap as I can. make or buy all the parts myself. To start does anybody know where I can get ship fiberglass hulls. I know the usual places. just looking for more options.

You could always build your own hull. I don't think you would save much money but it does open up more options. I wouldn't go too small, as cheap and small don't usually play nice together. Any ship or type in particular you want to build?

I'd also suggest doing a DIY hull. Finding warship hulls in our scale beyond the usual sources is difficult, and usually expensive as they're done for scale-enthusiasts typically.

Frenchies have lots of free plans if you take the time to clean them up, can build just about anything.

I was thinking the Prinz Eugen.

My only concern for wood ribs and building my own is weight and the gradual slope for the hull scares me a little.

I can't help you with a Prince Eugen hull but I have an Admiral Graf Spee hull from Ralph Coles' last batch.
Let me know what you think.

We already have a very nice Graf Spee in the club. I was hoping for something that we dont have before. I would also settle for an Indiana.

USS Indiana would be a great boat. Hardly something to settle for.

The USS Indiana was my second love when I first did this hobby some 12 years ago.

I know George Geoff has plans for the Alabama. I'm not real familiar with the class so I'm not sure about how much difference or scale issues.

From research it looks like there is not huge difference especially when its scaled down to 1/144

I'm free Thursday or Friday if you're not working and want to goof around at the pond or something.
