Another Option would be to have like two dudes drive a truck down with all of the boats and paraphrenalia from your club, then fly the rest of the club to the site. Maybe pick up boats on the way from other clubs too.

I disagree! I would take GA at its worst over Bahrain, UAE, or Kuwait at theirs. ~18months cumulative in “the gulf”, would be happy to never go back:D

    lol 27 months cumulative here.

I bet it must have sucked being in a CVBG out in the gulf. Inland, Kuwait isn't as bad as GA. it's just hot. not "sticky and I feel like I am dying ALL the time" hot like Georgia.
Afghanistan had a surprisingly pleasant climate in Paktika and Logar. it was like Albuquerque, but with more flies.

I've never been anywhere interesting like Afghanistan or elsewhere in the Middle East, but I've been to both the pond in NC, and the one in Statesboro, GA. I wouldn't say the weather was really any different between the two.

That’s hilarious. My least favorite time for watch was mid day summer with all the open topped poo trucks lining the pier for the ships, plus porta potties, and the kicker the “sheep ship”. The sheep ship is one particular ship that regularly pulls into Bahrain laden with thousands of sheep. It is large (probably 30k tons) and has an odor footprint to match its capacity. I watched that combo, with the heat, make a less sturdy sailor violently ill. Much to everyone else’s amusement!:woot:

    THIS, a thousand times this.

Ship retrieval is probably the single most dangerous part of the hobby. The faster and safer it is the better for everyone.

72 months in the middle east for me. It was a tad hot 120+ every day in the summer in the empty quarter, then on the Red Sea, 100% humidity with 115 deg heat. Up in the mountains in Taif the same day it would be 65 deg.

Frontier flies from Denver to Savannah, on Friday and Monday. Cheap, and safe right?

Better yet, they fly everyday to Jacksonville, 90 min drive or so to Statesboro.

Why did we keep asking some of these questions over and over again.
Why did we tell you the address of the banquet if you didn't need it ???

I liked the ice cream place by the "auto repair" shop. Across the street from the junkyard.
