IRCWCC Nats 2021?

I'm thinking of attending but don't see anything on the IRCWCC website about where in North Carolina. Anyone know what airport we'd fly into?

We stay at Quality Inn, NC 24/27 Bypass East, Albemarle, NC, about an hour from the airport

We might need another hotel as back-up.
There are going to be a lot of construction workers there.
And /or we may need to be on the second floor

Yes Kas I heard that the current von winner is supposed to stay at the holiday inn - @Panzer can stay with the rest of us though

I don’t think Rob S monitors this site, I recommend directing all questions about nats accommodations to the IRCWCC groups.io list

 

When I did mine yesterday, I had to mention we were with the model boats group. Should get you the discount.

 

On the list, Rob said the information is the same as the scheduled battle on the events page.

 

Update on the hotel situation for those not on the ircwcc list. We decided to switch the hotel after a few incidents at the event last weekend. Here is new info:

Seemed like a good chunk of the hotel was used for section 8 housing, we had someone come up to us mid overdose with vomit on their clothes who would not leave when kindly asked to, we notified the staff and the person was carted away. One guy had someone pound on his door at 3am probably wrong room for drug pick up, a few other shady characters roaming about, police felt the need to do evening passes through the parking lot (which we appreciated). Overall general consensus was we’d rather pay a bit more to hopefully not deal with that

 

Sounds like a typical weekend graveyard shift at work for me...so...move much appreciated!
