Do you mind sharing where you are getting this information so I can be on the same page in the discussion? A naval manual perhaps?

It just takes time for calcification, about one year.

I think the timeframe depends on the climate. After a few months under we would have all sorts of ‘grow-ys’ Along for the ride. Boy did they get pissed when we would surface

If the turrets don't rotate, are they really turrets or just deck ornaments? If the guns don't all shoot, are they really guns? If the barrels don't elevate, are they really barrels? If the propulsion train doesn't use steam, do the ships really move? If the superstructure doesn't have a 1/144 scale live crew, is it really superstructure? What are we doing here people? What makes us think we can establish rules and adjust them to make building scale ships slightly less complicated without impacting performance? Its not like the entire applicable club voted on a proposal to make a change (at which point no concerns were raised).

I feel like the only logical response to such questions (that serve no benefit to the club) is the following:

    1.5 * 1.5 = 2.25 square inches.

It is, but this is area so you need to multiply the height by the width, not add.

I thought we got rid of the stub since all ships now have the same rudder area in each class. It was only there because the Axis managed to get inline rudders declared dual rudder ships to gain the extra 50% rudder area. We said if the forward stub is a dual rudder than it should be able to turn by Radio control. Some Axis decided that a piece of thread connected to the stub rudder servo met the guide lines and the Allies were too tired to argue.

    Nikki 3 divided by 1.5 = 2 so you can have a rudder 1.5 by 2 inches
