I cant wait to use that stuff in my Spee, looks like fun. I wont use anywhere near that much though, just enough for stability and basic channeling.

I used just 10 oz in my Kumano, and I think Mike only used 1 tube in his Scheer.

Just finished adding Don's CO2 bottle holders, and poured the bow section with the concrete sealer, will not be able to do much to either boat for the next 2 days.
Update, well what I poured yesterday was solid enough, so I finished with the last pour down the center of the waterchannel to slope down to the pump sump on my ID. Tomorrow I should be able to finish the deck on the hull. On Don's I poured the Starboard side, so by the weekend his should be ready to get the subdeck installed.
By early next week, will start looking at the CO2 and gun installation.

Well all my sealer has been installed, this evening we are going to visit Don C in the hospital, so not much will be done. Tomorrow I will wire up the motors, get them installed, and add the second coat of resin to the deck.
Well for some reason the image gallery shows itself to be empty, and I cannot post a picture at this time, I will try a bit later.

The concrete sealer your using is it like a latex or silicone type texture? It looks glossy. The stuff I used looked like cookie dough but grainy. I don't know what the Canadian equivilant brand would be, but the stuff your using I wish to use instead.

Its Polyurathane based, when its dry, its a rubber. You can press on it, and it will move. Yes after it has self leveled itself, it becomes very glossy, much better than the Dap type I used in the stern of my boat.

My Boat. Weight is 7 pounds 4 oz.

Don's boat, you can see the difference in mine where I used the Dap in the stern. His is much nicer looking.

Got it thanks. I apparently (ooops ) used the wrong stuff in bb26 PE. It still worked though. However I like the rubber glossy look better. BTW great work!

I got Don's subdeck installed and resined in. Tomorrow I will sand the edges down even, then fill in any spots that need it. Don C is still in the Hospital, he got bloodclots yesterday, so they gave him some bloodthinners, and delayed his release.
Helped Rick get most of his wiring done on his new Super Scharny as he calls it, we put everything in it, and it looks like he will be right at 28 pounds, so about 4 under.
I also got my deck peices cut and fitted, they need a little more sanding, then coated with resin. It's coming along nicely, will not be done it time for Wade's, but should be ready for the May battle in Maryland.

Well after 3 days with no boat work getting done, I finally got back out into the garage, and worked on it for 4 hours.
I drilled out the 3 holes in the decks where the guns will go, and used the router to route out the three holes to a depth of 1/32 of a inch, 1/4 inch back. The barbettes drop right into the holes, and looks better than a normal installed right to the flush deck.
I then installed all 5 barbettes. [IMG]

What did you make the barbetts out of? I am looking for a good way to make them for my Utah.

I used the grey pvc pipe from Home depot. You can use the white also, but its not quite as thick, and will break easier than the grey. Home Depot sells 3 ft lenghts precut down here. You may not find quite the right size that you need, jsut try to get as close as possible. The grey I used is about 1/8 too large in diameter, but its close enough.

Thanks. There is a Home Deport close enough and I can probably pick some up next time I'm in town.

I was looking at the twin stern guns, with the 5 inch barrels, they will only be like 3 inches from the stern, so I should really get a wicked downangle on them with the low freeboard, she should pivot pretty well with the twin rudders, and the stern haymaker is pretty exciting also, the barrel will fire down in the rear side casemate, allowing belows, even when the target is right along side. Too bad it will not be ready for Wades upcoming battle. The PE will have to do for now.
What I like about her, is that she does not have that much superstructure, for some reason I'm just not a fan of making them. Frank says he will make me one if I want him to, but I think I will do this one, and just keep it simple like the PE.

Sweet. Hope Frank can post pics under the Superstructure thread. Like to see how he bulds it.
