In the middle of a rebuild and this ship has never had a water channel. I have the room. Just wondering the necessary to install a water channel. I can see the benefits but are they great enough to add on?

What ship? Generally speaking I would put in a water channel, however on smaller ships you raise the center of gravity just that little bit.

unless you are going to run a pump, water channeling in not necessary.

Don't think it is within rules to have a pump for a convoy ship.

up to your local crew for non sanctioned battles
locally we houseruled them ok (basically require that you use the BC micro pump only with a half unit restrictor). YMMV but we didn't like the idea that any leak was an eventual doombringer (we also did away with any halo rules, limit to attacking ships, etc)
