Hey, kids ... It's been a touch quiet around here lately, so I thought I'd bring back a beloved classic from several years ago for your anguish and enjoyment - Wallpaper Wednesday, where I will be (hopefully) posting a weekly pic of something appropriate to our interests. And now, to quote a famous flying squirrel, here's something we hope you'll really like! Note: This is Brian Lamb's Iron Duke. She's a pretty bote.
Oh, man, almost forgot ... It's been a week, and I'm bummed that I won't get to go to GA this weekend for the fun times. (sigh) Anyway, here's a blast from the past. Can anyone name the ships/captains??? Sadly, it doesn't look so good on the new monitors. Guess I'll have to see if I can find the original and re-scan it sometime. I just love the ships silhouetted in the setting sun, though.
John Jass - Rodney (lower right) Dan Hamilton - Exeter (center left) You - Salt Lake City (middle) And I don't know for the 3 funneled ship top left
Oh, very close, you get a cookie, or a virtual cookie at least. The US Ship is Foster's Chicago, and the top left is Tom Jass's Shropshire. This was at Dan's pond in Alabama, back in the fall of 1984. I didn't have my ship done yet, but this got me motivated to finish it over the winter.
I forgot Foster had the Chicago. Tom did build that Shropshire and always had issues with it's stability. I was working on my Exeter at that time. Those were great days of excitement!!!
Weren't they, though. Meanwhile, here's something from a certain game. Makes some really pretty screenshots.
And now for something completely different, have some pretty airplanes. Because some of us have more than one fetish, you know...
It seems that amidst the madness, I may have gotten a bit out of sync, so here's a Merry Christmas wallpaper for your enjoyment!
Indeed, a lovely picture, thanks to our (ahem) friends at WG... Meanwhile, now that I'm feeling a bit better, here's something a day late or so. Bonus points to whomever can identify the origin:
