[:)]Does anyone know if the Jean Bart's Hull is identical to the Richielieu's hull? I know thier topside layout is different. I really like the look of the Jean Bart and I want to build that version.

The completed Jean Bart had buldges to increase the hull volume.

Bulges huh. Makes sense. There's not many references to this ship. I think Heller had a 1/400 plastic model version. I wonder if that was accurate. Does anybody have a hull of this ship available?

Not many references? How about the shipyard plans? Besides the profile view (above waterlin only), I posted the hull profile drawing in the file manager (location listed in Plans section). Or, go to the French source to view the originals... Offhand, I'd say this ship is very well documented.

    Funny coincidence ...

I was on the French warship plans site last night looking at the Bart. The plans for the ship are pretty faded, but still workable to make a set of model plans from.

Then of course, Tugboat has already posted the hull sections for it. :)

IMO, the bulges are pretty graceful compared to other ships. The top of the bulge blends nicely into the hull. The bottom of the bulge into the hull is a little funky, but no one sees that anyway when the ship is in the water. :)

That was my thinking, but I didn't want to point it out :) The plans that I have posted for the Jean Bart are the very same French plans from their website, scaled down and cleaned up. It'd save a builder the extra steps (and, if they aren't hot on imaging programs,a learning curve) in building one.

In fact, I'd LOVE to see someone (hmmm, who would that be, Mike?) build one in 1/96 :) when they got back from Korea...

Yeah yeah. Ok, you caught me out. With a few people building BBs for Battlestations, I was looking at the Bart. Hence the reason I was on the French web site last night. Heh.

Do you have the Jean Bart scaled for 1/96? It'll be the my next Battlestations ship after the one I'm almost ready to start work on.

BB-wise, we have the mighty northern fleet with a Yamato and Musashi, and the southern fleet with the KMS Bismark. At some point, someone needs to do an Allied BB! A neutral one is moving in the right direction, balance-wise :)

If somebody makes a Jean Bart Hull then I will build it for combat. I could use a Neutral ship in my fleet. Thanks for the info on the references Tuboat.
