I got the deck sanded to shape and will start construction of the bulk heads. I can then mount it to the step deck.

    All,
Just got done the build session out here with the Far East Fleet. I posted pictures of what I managed to get done. The step deck is ready to glue in to place.

Nice, how many showed up for the build session. We usually have 3, but some times up to 5 people come.

I still managed to get the "Q" turret area deck rim in place tonight. I posted a couple of pictures. Time to take more cold medicine.

Even with cold medicine I was able to get something done today. I clipped computer paper to the deck rim and ran a pencil around the inner edge to show the shape of the deck. I'll white glue this to the 1/8" plywood for the deck and cut it along the line. I posted pictures of the process. It looks like this will work out very well.

I got the forward deck cut out and have started the sanding process which will give it a nice clean fit.
One nice thing about the way I cut the decks out is that it left me enough wood to complete the decks for the IJN Suzuya cruiser I have hanging on the wall in the shop. :)>

Feeling much better. Posted two pictures of Kirishima's forward deck. It has been sanded and fitted. I do need to sand and fit the area near "Q" turret and the step deck.
May mess around with the Suzuya a little.
    More later,

I just transferred the 01 deck for Kirishima to computer paper. I'll glue it to the 01 level wood tomorrow.
