Hey, Come one, come all to Statesboro for a Labor Day THREE DAY battle... Now that I've had the rust shaken off by Nats, I can get hardcore on the all-important local battling fall season. Or something like that. On board for battling so far are: Mike Mangus, Bill Byrnes, Brian and Christopher K, Stefan, Pete D, and Me. Will the Allies eek out a local victory to avenge the loss at Nats? Will the Axis continue to grind the Allies under their boot heel? Will the hot dog grilling attract the horses like last time? Only time... will tell.
Come on out for the battle, James... I'll loan you Scharnie EDIT: Rob Stalnaker and his son Justin (winner of the Bart Purvis Sportsmanship Trophy at Nats this year) have just signed up!
Alas Gascan will home in California, but I will try to be there. My destroyer, der Zee-monster, is ready to rumble. I will see if I can get my Viribus refit in time, too, and then you'll see how a Big Gun battleship fights...
Excellent! I'll have my KGV so we can do a replay of my prediction above. 24 seconds quad sterns. Although at some point, you might want to build a fast gun ship, since 100% of nuke duty stations are near fast gun, but only 25% are near big gun areas. Although I guess CT to VA is not horribly far to drive for a battle. 50% if you agree on that
Only 8'ish hours from Mississippi. The Verite will be available as a loaner boat. The annoying esc problem from this spring has been resolved and the stern cannons rebuilt. It is now (finally) a reliable ship.
I have a Carte Blanche from my Admiral for the weekend:-D I plan to be there with Radetzky. Maybe Capitani Romani (big gun) in tow for more trials.
James, can you switch your sign-up to Axis, driving SMS Scharnhorst 2.5 units, speed 26, 2.4GHz radio? I think we'll wind up flag/no flag but still hoping for more Axis to show up. I need to get cooking on KGV! Got one more gun to order, solenoids are in but not connected to the firing card. Also got to solder the battery cells together. No big deal, just 20 amps at 40C if I short 'em
Actually the Radetsky and one of her sisters were taken over by the US after WWII. The sister (Zinri?) was commissioned into the Navy for a year+ before going over to the Italians (Allied too).
I'm probably only going to make one day of this event. I'll have homework and studying and other power school stuff to do. The only question is, which day should I try for?
Hmmmm 2 Radetzkys. I hope they are painted contrasting colors so this half blind historian can tell them apart.
