This week end WWCC will have its last scheduled battle of the year at Lake Minden RV Park. It has been a great year at our new pond and I got to meet many new faces and two old faces from the 80's. I look forward to testing my new starter boat for Big Gun. It is an Italian cruiser with two of these twin 1/4" torpedo guns. Jeff found this little Clipard valve that shoots a twin with plenty of hitting power with a Mat 2 tank. More pic's to come.
I hope I can come... how do I get a Namba membership? I do have a rowing competition and might not be able to go. I might just go just to say hi. I can't finish Kitakami anyway... When does the events on Saturday end?
Activities are all day, in the morning (think before noon) we will have some gunnery and maneuvering practice, later in the day will be lots of battling!
Okay so my competition ends at 1 and we have to drive for 1hr 30min. I can't stay overnight. Is this worth it. I'm still debating with my parents though. I'm not in competitive debate for nothing!!!
You will probably see a few battles, depending on sunset and when you arrive. You'll have about 3 hours of driving combined, that's probably how long you will be there too. Your decision if it's worth it, but remember, if you don't come you will be missed!
That's quite an interesting cannon. How many rounds does it carry? What sort of barrel length are you using?
It holds around 16 1/4" rounds and the barrels are as wide as the Giussano ( 3-1/2"). I am going to add between 2 and 4 rotating BB guns for testing this winter if I like the handling of the boat Saturday. I want to mass produce these guns for cruisers to get people on the water with a boat that can play most of the battle and not running and reloading 90% of the battle.
Looks to be a Clippard JEV (jumbo exhaust valve), a type of negative-pressure cannon. I sure hope that Giussano has extra depth, since this whole assembly is not exactly lightweight.
The Roberts sank! Edit: Sorry for the hyper-ness, but that was the first time I've ever seen a combat ship sink. Moments before the sink:
The valves are a JEV-F2F2 and the whole gun is very light, This valve is at the max for firing a twin 1/4" gun and good barrels are needed but it did put holes in boats.
Here are two pic's from early Saturday morning, H-39 on a calm beautiful foggy morning. My oldest son ran the Scharnhorst for its first day of combat and every thing worked better than you could hope for. He put a crap load of holes in Joe's Iowa. Also the cammo on this boat works, in the early morning haze, Joe tried to take a pic of a transport with the H-39 behind it and you could see the transport but not the H-39, it did not show on the screen, it was crazy. We had a great turn out and this is a great group of people looking forward to next year.
