Looks nice! I'll be more than happy if I get my Golo looking as good.

Ok so i ran into a slight problem. It floats with no battery in it, but then i put one of my Bismarck batteries in it and it just want to topple over. So the problem lies on what batter to get that wont capsize the liberty. If its to small im afraid it wont have a long run time. So what size battery is good? and were do i get it? all help is much appreciated. Thanks

I run a 6 volt 5 amp hour SLA in my bigger convoy ships (CVLs, Altmark, CVE). I run 6 volt 4.5 amp NiMH in my LSTs.

How much current does it draw in the water and how long do you want to run it for on one battery?

you could always go and get one of those 6 cell battery packs they use for RC cars and lay it flat on the bottom. Not sure if its enough battery life but they are real easy

I run two 4.5ah sla's in my liberty, laid flat on thier sides. Oh, and a lump of lead in the stern for trim...
    No stability issues.

Set a mulitimeter to a current range and put it in series betwen your battery and the ship's electronics, and see what current you draw at full throttle (have the propellers in some water to give a realistic load to the electric motor) . If it is under 4.5 amps you'll get > 1 hour from one battery or two hours from two.

I see that you are running into the same problem I had.
With my first superstructure, she was a bit top heavy.
I had a hard time keeping her from tipping.
I kept re-working the super structure to lighten it.
Now my batteries are the ballast, and she seems to be very stable.
My next task is to start adding detail to the superstructure again.
See how much I can add to it without upsetting the balance.

even witht he superstructure off it was tipping im just thinking its the batter because it can float no problem with no batter and the superstructure on

Make sure you lay that battery flat. and you could always add some led weights to the very bottom of the ship to keep it balanced. I cannot see you not having extra room for weight seeing as it is a transport.

haha i see what you mean and i guess it if comes down to it i can bolt a piece of lead or steal strip to the bottom of it as no one really sees the bottom. So i also found some 4.5 ah batteries online for like 9.75 each with free shipping, doesn't sound to bad still need to purchase my esc as the one i bought from HK is for a brush-less (my mistake) Then i will need to purchase connectors most likely traxxis like the ones in my Bismarck. So hopefully by the middle of May or the beginning of June she should be up and running.

When you say connectors do you mean the actual piece to connect the wires together from say the battery to ESC? If so most local hobby stores will sell them and they are relatively cheap and just require a little bit of soldering.
