Are you sure? I was fiddling with some 4" mags i have just to see what it would look like with something in it and they seemed to have ample room to rotate. I will have to look again and make sure the clearance is ok.

I went back and looked at the pics you have up and I see what you mean with the motor mounts now. What made you decide to move them there?

I decided to mount them there because I moved them back from where designed and was having some interference problems... I may just redesign the mounts when I get cannons if the cannon doesn't fit.

as an aside, see below: She is running very light with a starbucks can for extra flotation in case of catastrophic leak... only very minor leaks (maybe a fraction of quart per hour tops) found around two shafts... easy to fix. Ran rather well, doesn't turn well when props suck in 50% air with high cross wind, will have to see when properly ballasted out.

The stripes are 90% of the reason I love Italian ships. They look cool.

The aesthetics of Italian ships over all are fantastic. The stripes are just the icing on the cake.

Well, I had started work on some laser cut superstructure parts but I got sidetracked by a cannon idea that was simply too interesting (and good if it works) to pass up...

Just a quick screenshot... the wood layers to form the Super have started, and the 1/4" guns are drawn in partly (assuming the design works) I figured out the optimum location for a pivot to get 20 degrees of down angle without requiring either the turret to lift a skosh or the barbette to be non-scale in height... so again,we will see how things go

Cozy as in there is actually heat in there, but there's room too. The shop is cozy in the not much spare room sense, but a tad bit chilly.

Greg, look forward to having you out this way if you do come here!

there be no if, I just accepted and sent back paperwork for a company in Lynnwood, wa.

We will see how the battling goes, the L is configured for big gun and there is no big gun presence there... although we will see.
