Does anyone know where i can find good plans for any of the Japanese WWII carriers? the more detailed the better.
Pick a Jap carrier. And Send me a pm with your email address. Do not post your email address on the list. Ron Hunt
I got good plans from Profile Morskie (type that phrase into google for the link, I forget the exact one), in 1/350, and scaled them up for my use. They make excellent, very detailed plans, and you can order either the paper copies, or pdf files. They also have detail books for some ships (Like the carrier Junyo). If you order, tell them people form this forum sent you
Just so you know carriers are only good for convoy ships. The hobby is all about the fire power of surface ships.
yea i know, i am looking for a winter project to build just for fun i also have plans for the Mehoshi Maru that i'm going to do. but i'll make sure i have a combat ship done before i start on these. i'm just planning ahead
i already have a set of plans for the Akagi and am getting Shokaku plans emailed to me. where do i find Taiho plans? it is a nice looking ship
Not up on axis plans. von Tugboat has a Japanese source that may have them that he can steer you towards.
Miyukikai has awesome plans for all (well the fleet ones anyway) Japanese carriers. The Akagi and Kaga plans are gorgeous. I have an older version of Hiryu, the new version is supposed to be their best set yet. I would imagine that they have the best or nearly be best plans for the Imperial Japanese ships. I believe the new version of the Kongo-1941 is out now as well.
Miyukikai definitely is the best source for IJN plans, the quality is excellent, and the price is right. ANB plans are also excellent, some even more so than Miyukikai, but they don't have many IJN plans, and they cost a small fortune. In the US, you can get ANB plans thru Taubman's, but they don't carry the entire ANB line of plans. The only plans I've seen that are better quality than the above two sources are out of print IJN plans from Japanese sources dating back to the 1970s and 1980s. They cost a large fortune -- if you can find them -- and they don't all have hull stations. Miyukikai and ANB plans will all have hull stations... Good luck, Carl
Hey there, does anyone here have Japanese carrier plans from Miyukikai you'd share or part with? Miyukikai doesn't seem to be in operation anymore unfortunately.
I have just sent an email to Miyukikai... list (odn.ne.jp) And they replied: Plans are no longer being sold. :-(
