No 1/4 units allowed, just half units, otherwise all data is correct I have some mods to do on this boat, hopefully get it in battle this time around (sorry Caleb)
Any Democrats here will be very jealous. I spent a good chunk of the day grinding holes in Tromp. Next, another round of filler dabs and a thinned out finish gel layer.
One more layer of ground out flaws filled (I’m picky) and final (hopefully) tooling Gel layer sprayed in thin. When this thing is wet sanded out to 2000 grit Donald could check his hair in it.
Spent 10 hours sanding Tromp molds today. Only a few pits remain that will get will get dab touching tomorrow. (Photo taken at the half) both molds now look like the port side does here
You know we cut out the sides, then cover with balsa, right? I like smooth cutouts that I throw away as much as the next guy, but....
And the other 25 % battle either on the water or on the keyboard? I did start my class 1, parts are in a state of acquisition. The pump is made (demo in a bucket) , Ti gun parts inventory in the bag. Small drive motors are being tested.
In our world, super smooth well polished molds made with tooling gel last for 100’s of part pulls. Any small flaws make the parts stick and break out chunks of either the parts singularly or the molds themselves cumulatively. So I understand what you’re saying from the combat customers perspective, but it’s worth it to us putting the work in before starting production so we will get flaw free parts and trouble free molds that I don’t have to keep repairing when I have customers waiting. We already have 3 orders for the Tromp so better to get it perfect now to make it worth their wait... with no mold downtime later.
Tromp molds now ready for production! Gel being Sprayed tonight! (1/24 scale Higgins PT in background)
