The battle of the century!!! or at least the battle of the part of the century that falls on the weekend of 15/16 May 2010...
It'll be in Pooler at Tom Triplett Park (our favorite), and good news for Axis - the vile Allied vermin have not acheived the minimum 2 to 1 advantage that they need for a near-miss at victory!:laugh::laugh::laugh:

The ones I showed you in my shop are 12AH 6V sealed lead-acid (SLA) batteries. They are available many places, but I got mine here:
    http://www.batterymart.com/p-6v-12ah-sealed-lead-acid-battery.html

They're $17 apiece there, you will need two to run around and later I'd pick up two more so you can have a good set in the morning and then swap in a fresh set for the afternoon.

I will be in my shop on Sunday, so feel free to come by and play. I'll have your rudder servo mount done and we can put that in, and hook up the rudders.

Good news Zach! From the chatter on the Region 3 mailing list, the May battle is getting mpushed back to the 29th/30th... an extra 2 weeks to get the boat ready!

I will be camping with the Boy Scouts this weekend (so will Brian), so no build session. If you've got nothing else to work on, start doing superstructure. Don't worry about making it perfect, just make it look reasonably close to the plans. It may help to google you ship, and then click 'images' to get some pics of what she looked like. If you got the full ship kit from BC, assemble it, it's easy.

Sweet. Come over one of the days this weekend, you can watch my destroyer run around the pool! And we can get more done on your boat.

1ish Saturday works, my parents are coming over Sunday at 1. With all your stuff, I think we have a good shot at doing your electrical system and finishing up the rudder stuff. I'll ask Brian if he's got your throttle assembly ready/get it from him. Do you have your poppet valves?

You will definately need a radio. You will also need 3 MAV-2 valves from www.clippard.com to fire the guns, they're about $7.35 apiece. I can give you 3 right now as long as you order 3 more to replace them. We can only do so much to get your guns ready if we don't have the firing valves. Also need to order 1/4" hose and 1/8" hose from Clippard, they sell it in 50 foot rolls for $20 and $10, respectively. I probably have enough of the 1/4" to set you up, but I'm short on the 1/8".
