No I don't have to worry aobut that yet I have to finish the hull first i have reached a slight standstill as I have to get some urethane to waterproof the ribs, subdecks, and keels. What is the maximum allowable building error when making a ship?

IDK. I tried scratch-building the Yamato (just for fun) It ended up 9+ inches longer.

TBone, the max error is +/- 1/8" for beam, +/- 1/2" for length.

TBone, I forget, are you building for fast gun or big gun (makes a difference because big gun gets a pump and needs more juice).

Nothing wrong with that... I'd go with a bigger battery than 1000mAH. For something as big as Mehosi Maru, you can probably just put a big ole 6V 12AH battery in for power and ballast. It's total overkill, but it's also cheaper than most RC car batteries that would be big enough to do the job. Costs between $12 and $15.

The WWCC and most other Big Gun clubs require length and width to be within + 5% of historical. For mehoshi, you can be between 33.25" and 36.75", as measured from the very tip of the bow to the furthest aft part of the hull. Width can be 4.275" to 4.725" at the widest point.
